The first round of claims is now closed! All of the art has been claimed. Artists are free to reach out to their authors through email or PM (information is listed in the claims comments).

There will be a second round of claiming on 12PM/Noon PST on Wednesday, July 3rd. This means that another Claims Post featuring all the art work will be put up so a second Author can claim a piece of art and write a story for it.

Authors may not forfeit any art that they have already claimed in order to pick a different one from this post.

Once again, the Claims process will be first come, first serve. We make no guarantee to the Artists that their art will be claimed more than once, and we make no guarantees that Authors will get their first, second, or fifth choice in this round.

Schedule:
Saturday, July 6th: The Big Reveal of Artist/Author Matchups

Friday, July 26th: Author Check in
Friday, August 16th: Author Check in
Sunday, September 1st: Stories due
Sunday, September 8th Posting Schedule goes up

Sunday, September 15th: Posting begins

Artists: If you would prefer your art not be put up for a second claim, please comment to this post with your art piece number(s) from the first post here & suggested pairing(s) if any. We will remove your pieces from the second claims post. If an artist doesn't comment to this post, it will be assumed they are okay with second claims.

Authors: If you are interested in claiming a second peice of art to write for, please bear in mind that posting will begin in mid-September and schedule accordingly. Consider your own writing habits as well as any upcoming events (exams, travel, etc) that may make writing two 3,000+ word stories unmanageable. This is doubly true if you are currently signed up to be an artist in this challenge as well. If you don't think you can feasibly commit to writing two stories within the given timeframe, please refrain from claiming a second piece and possibly disappointing one or both your artists.

Pinch-Hitting:
A sign up post for Pinch-Hitters (people who volunteer to write a story after someone drops out) will be posted to the community after Claims are all finished.

If you have any questions, please comment to this entry.

The first round of Art Claims is now officially closed. All 94 pieces of art have been successfully claimed by authors in record time; congratulations to all our participants! Artists, if you have not already contacted your authors, please go ahead and do so.

Both Artist and Author sign ups are now closed. Membership to the community is currently closed. If you have a compelling reason to join the community beyond wanting to see the art or being curious, you may comment to this post.

When:
There will be a second round of claiming. This means that another Claims Post featuring all the art work will be put up so a second Author can claim a piece of art and write a story for it. In the interest of fairness, we will be opening the post at 7 PM PST tomorrow, February 21 (the second most voted for time, as per our poll).

For the first 24-hours, this post will be open to claims by Authors who signed up for the challenge but did not successfully claim any art in the first round of Claims. If an Author has already claimed a piece of art, they may not participate in this second round of claims until 24 hours have passed. Authors may not forfeit any art that they have already claimed in order to pick a different one from this post.

This post will become open to Authors who wish to claim a SECOND piece of art at 7:00 PM PST February 22, 2011.

Once again, the Claims process will be first come, first serve. We make no guarantee to the Artists that their art will be claimed more than once, and we make no guarantees that Authors will get their first, second, or fifth choice in this round.

Schedule:
Monday, February 21st: Second round of claims open to Authors who have no art yet
Sunday, February 22nd: Second round of claims open to all Authors (including those who want a second piece of art)
Sunday, February 27th: The Big Reveal of Artist/Author Matchups (may go up sooner)

Sunday, March 20th: Artist Check in
Sunday, March 27th: Author Check in
Sunday, April 3rd: Posting Schedule goes up

Sunday, April 10th: Posting begins

A Second Claim:
Authors: If you are interested in claiming a second peice of art to write for, please bear in mind that posting will begin in early April and plan your schedule accordingly.

Claims:
Claims will begin this Sunday, February 20th. The poll to determine what time people can begin claiming is still open here. The votes will be tallied and the poll closed tonight at 11:59 PM EST. The time with the most votes will be set as when the Claims Post goes up on Saturday (comments-locked), and when comments open on Sunday.

Authors:
Here is a recap of what is expected of Authors when they claim a piece of artwork: Authors must write a fic with a minimum of 3,000 words, based on the art chosen in the Art Claims post. Claims will be first come, first serve. Your fic must be related to the art for which it is written, and it cannot have been already posted elsewhere. The fics must be beta read, and we have a post for Fic Beta volunteers available for authors to contact directly. The Rules Post is here.

There will be an Artist Check in on March 20th and an Author Check in on March 27th to ensure that both parties are on the way to successfully completing their work.

Posting will begin on April 10th and likely continue for about 3 weeks at a rate of 4 stories per day. Please make plans and schedule your time accordingly to ensure that you will be able to make the deadline; it can be very disappointing for artists who have their work claimed by an author who then defaults at the last second.

Artists:
Artists may contact their Author as soon as the claim has been confirmed by a mod and the piece has been struck out in the Claims Post.

If you have any questions, please comment to this post.
