Here are the guidelines for submitting your art drafts for claims in [livejournal.com profile] i_reversebang.
  • Art pieces may be finished or works in progress.
  • They are due by Sunday, June 23rd, but you may send them in beforehand if you are ready.
  • Submissions should be sent to ireversebang@gmail.com with the subject: Art Submission. Attach the file(s) to the email.
  • You can submit up to two art pieces. These pieces should not be linked, as each piece could be chosen by different authors.
  • If you are doing a comic style piece with panels, it must be one image file which will then count as one piece.
  • There is no maximum size for art, though each art prompt must be at least 400 by 600 pixels. If it is a vid it must be at least 1 minute in length. You may also submit an audio file following the rules set out here.
  • There is no need to submit a thumbnail version.
  • Images can be sent in the following formats: GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF.
  • Vids can be sent in the following formats: 3GP, ASF, AVI, MOV, MPEG, MPG, RM, RV, and WMV. Alternatively, you may upload it to Youtube and send us the link. If you're sending in a YT link, please make sure there's no identifying information about you the artist in the vid or on the page
  • We will be requiring the following naming convention: artistname_piece#. For example bauble_piece1.jpg. This will allow us to keep things organized and to ensure no duplicate file names.
  • Art will be posted for claims anonymously, so please do not publicly post your art anywhere beforehand.

For each image you need to fill out the following information:
Livejournal Name:
Email:
Piece #:
Rating:
Suggested Pairing(s):
(indicate here if you want gen, have pairing preferences or don’t care either way)
Description: (optional)

Please copy and paste the above text into your email to make sure you don't forget anything.

Here is an example of what the body of the email should contain if you have 2 pieces to submit:

Livejournal Name: bauble
Email: ireversebang@gmail.com
Piece #: 1

How Art Claims will work:
The art pieces will be going up in a members-locked post with comments turned off on Friday, June 28th so everyone can get a chance to look through the art before the claiming begins. Prompts will be numbered, without the artist's name attached. Each prompt will include a thumbnail (which links to the full-size version), a short description, preferred pairings (if there are any) and ratings. Here is an example:

101.
Rating: G for art, fic can be higher
Pairing(s): Gen or dude/dude
Description: Two dudes in front of a bright window, being mysterious.

Claims Begin:
After 24 hours comments will be turned on and claiming will begin on Saturday, June 29th. We will be putting the exact time that the claims open to a vote, so members may decide in a poll which time would be most convenient for them. When the Claims Post opens, authors will comment with their top 5 art choices. Mods will reply and inform the author of which piece they get, and the piece will be struck out in the claims post.

In the first round of claims authors will only be allowed to claim one piece of art. Claims will be first come first serve, and the prompts will be crossed out as they are claimed. If there are unclaimed pieces at the end of two days, there will be a second round of claims, wherein authors may claim a second piece to write for.

We cannot guarantee that anyone will get their first, second, or even fifth choice. Some pieces may be very popular, and it is natural to feel some disappointment if you don't get to write for something that really inspires you. However, please bear in mind the feelings of artists who will be reading the comments to the Claims Post as well; making comments along the lines of "I don't want to write for any of this" or "there's nothing good left" will not make any of the artists feel very good. If you've ever participated as a writer in a Big Bang challenge, I'm sure you can understand the anxiety that comes from having your work in a line up with other pieces.

Proxies: If an author cannot comment when they claims post first opens, they may preview the claims in the 24 hour window beforehand and submit their choices to a proxy who will post in their stead. If a proxy is making a claim for themself as well, they must leave two separate comments, one stating their top 5 choices and one stating the top 5 choices of their friend.

Here is what the claims comment format will look like:
LJ Username:
Email:
Choice #1:
Choice #2:
Choice #3:
Choice #4:
Choice #5:

Multiple claims: Two or more authors claiming the same piece to write a story for will not be allowed until every single piece has been claimed. Only if every single piece has been claimed will we consider opening the pieces up to second claims. Artists may opt their piece(s) out of being claimed by a second author if they wish.

After a piece has been claimed:
Artists are free to contact their author as soon as they see that their piece has been claimed. We will be posting a Author/Artist Matchup Reveals post and as well as sending email notifications to authors and artists, but that will take time for us to do so we strongly recommend that artists proactively contact their authors ASAP.

If you have any questions about the Claim Process, please comment to this post.
